If your music keeps pausing when you open Facebook while using Apple Music, Spotify, or Pandora, this usually happens because Facebook auto-plays videos with sound. This takes over your phone’s audio and pauses your music. To turn this feature off, follow the steps below.
How to fix Facebook stopping your music
Solution: Turn Off Video Autoplay in Facebook
- Open Facebook
- Tap Menu
- Select Settings & Privacy
- Select *Settings *
- Select** Media **
- Go to Autoplay and select Never Autoplay Videos
This prevents Facebook from taking over your audio.
Additional solution: Turn Off In-App Sounds
Even with autoplay off, Facebook sounds can still interrupt music. If the above steps haven't worked for you, you can take things one step further and stop Facebook from making any sounds in-app.
- Open Facebook
- Tap Menu
- Select Settings & Privacy
- Select *Settings *
- Select** Media **
- Select In-App Sounds change it to Off
This stops Facebook from overriding your music audio.
If you’re still having issues, it’s usually a temporary Facebook app bug, and reinstalling the app typically fixes it.
