How to fix no sound from Maps while getting directions

If your Maps app has stopped giving you audio directions, the fix is usually a quick settings adjustment inside the app or on your device.

No Sound From Maps While Getting Directions

Step 1: Check Your Ringer
Make sure your phone is not on silent. If your iPhone has a Ringer Switch on the side, make sure no orange is showing.

Step 2: Check In-App Sound Settings

Google Maps
1. Enter your Destination and start navigation
2. Swipe Up on the navigation screen
3. Tap Settings
4. Tap Sound & Voice
5. Select Unmute

Apple Maps
1. Enter your Destination and start navigation
2. Swipe Up on the navigation screen
3. Tap Voice Controls
4. Select Unmute

Your Maps audio directions should now be working!
