What happens if I left my device at the shop for more than 30 days?

At Sour Apple Repair, we take every reasonable step to ensure timely communication with our customers when their devices have been serviced and are ready for pick-up. This Device Abandonment Policy outlines the procedures we follow when devices are left unclaimed.

1. Purpose

This policy outlines the procedures and conditions under which Sour Tech will consider a device abandoned if the customer fails to retrieve it after repair or diagnosis.

2. Customer Responsibility

Customers are responsible for picking up their devices within the specified timeframe after repair or diagnostic service completion. Sour Tech will make reasonable efforts to notify customers via the provided contact information.

3. Notification Process

  • Once a repair is completed or a diagnostic evaluation is finished, the customer will be notified via call, text, or email.
  • If the device is not picked up within 30 days of the first notification, a final reminder will be sent.
  • If the customer does not respond within 10 days of the final reminder, the device will be considered abandoned.

4. Abandonment Consequences

Devices left unclaimed beyond 40 days from the first notification will be subject to the following actions:

  • Storage Fees: A storage fee of $5 per day may be charged starting from day 31.
  • Ownership Transfer: Sour Tech Repair Shop reserves the right to recycle, sell, or dispose of the device to recover costs.
  • Data Loss Warning: Sour Tech Repair Shop is not responsible for any data loss resulting from device disposal.

5. Exceptions

Customers may request an extension before the 40-day period expires. Special circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

6. Liability Disclaimer

Sour Tech Repair Shop is not liable for any loss or damages to abandoned devices after the 40-day period. It is the customer’s responsibility to retrieve their property in a timely manner.

By leaving your device for repair, you agree to the terms of this Device Abandonment Policy.
