Reducing: Repairs & Refurbishing
Our primary focus at Sour Tech is electronic repair. Whether that's a phone, computer, console, or even a DVD player, we offer repairs using the highest quality parts available at fair price points. Repairing your device gives it a second chance at life while also ensuring another piece of tech stays out of the landfill.
Purchasing a new device is much more costly than buying refurbished; both for a customer, and for the planet. Purchasing certified pre-owned saves up to 90% of the carbon emissions created from buying new. We offer a huge selection of certified pre-owned devices if that's what you're after. By offering affordable device repairs and alternatives to buying new, we are doing our part to reduce electronic waste and encouraging our customers to do the same.
Reusing: Trade-ins, OEM Parts & Consumer Savings
With our trade-in program, you can sell your old devices that are gathering dust for cash or repair credit. The devices we purchase are disassembled into their separate components. Over time, this provides us with an enormous "bank" of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts, also known as genuine parts, that we can offer customers before repairs. Used genuine parts are tested to ensure full functionality and carry the same 1-year Manufacturer's Warranty that we offer on our new parts. If a used part is available for your repair, we'll let you know, and you can decide if you'd like to make the switch. Used parts are cheaper for us to use, and we pass those savings onto you! A used phone housing, depending on its condition, could discount your repair by up to $30.
This option allows us to recycle each and every component of the phones sent to us. And since our tear-downs occur in-house, there's no additional carbon footprint that other recycling places can cause by shipping your device to multiple locations. For all shipments and orders we process out from our facility, we use recycled packaging with biodegradable materials.
Recycling: Broken Components & Art
We offer recycling for all your small electronic devices such as phones, laptops, consoles, and accessories. Our process begins with dismantling the device and testing its individual components. If a part is no longer functional, it's disqualified from being used in repairs. We will either recycle it with our electronics partners, or pass it on to our in-house artisan.
Our artisan will use these scrap circuit boards, broken cameras, and non-functioning charge ports as the base materials for her original, recycled tech jewelry. These custom earrings and necklaces are all crafted by hand at our main location using reclaimed tech parts and stainless steel findings. Stay up-to-date with us, because these artisan pieces will soon be available for purchase.
